Finished Silky Smooth After Shave Lotion

Yesterday I released a recipe for a Silky Smooth Shave Cream. Today I am going to share with you a recipe for an After Shave Lotion to go with that shaving cream. I wanted a lotion that went on thick but left you feeling softer than a babies bum and helps soothe the skin. I added three extracts that are all known for being soothing to the skin, Orchid Extract, Ivy Extract, and Calendula Extract. This lotion turned out great after shaving with the Silky Smooth Shave Cream and then using this lotion my skin felt amazing!

Q.S. means quantity sufficient. It takes such a little amount it is hard to weigh. To achieve the light purple color I used a couple drops of each color.

To make this lotion start by weighing everything except for the extracts, essential oil, colors, and the preservative. Then heat gently in the microwave until the Conditioning Emulsifier has completely melted. Then set the lotion aside and allow it to cool to under 120° F. Once cooled add the extracts, the Lavender 40/42 Extra, colors, and the preservative. Pipe into the container of your choice. Label and enjoy!
