Lime Rickey Lip Balm

Lime Ricky Lip Balm

Lime Ricky Lip Balm

Summer is almost here and that means I have iced drinks on my mind. Iced Tea, tall glasses of lemonade and frosty glasses of root beer. However, one of my favorite cold summer drinks is a Lime Rickey. If you are not familiar with a Lime Rickey, check out Andee’s post where she teaches you to make your own!

This recipe is perfect for handling the summer weather. It is a little too firm to be put into a tube but it is perfect for a jar. If you put this in a tube, the tube mechanism may not advance properly. However this is still a great recipe! Particularly if you want something to keep in your pocket or car during the upcoming summer days.

Weighing Oils

Weigh all of the oils except for the Grape Flavor Oil, Expressed Lime and Orchid Extract into a microwave safe container. Heat in 30 second increments until everything has melted. If the Soy Wax and Carnauba Wax are being stubborn and refusing to melt, remove the mixture from the microwave and stir well. This often will allow the waxes to melt from the heat of the other oils. Once the oils have completely melted, add the Grape Flavor Oil, Expressed Lime and Orchid Extract. Stir well.

Fill your jars and allow the lip balm to completely cool. Cap the jars. Now you can give your lip balm a pretty label or put it into a cute bag. Enjoy this great lip balm or give as gifts!
