Boy, this is timely!! I’ve just been making lip balms & using my filling tray. My issue is that I can’t get them all out clean…the edges stick to tray & pull off. I’ve done everything (I think). Chilled…not chilled. Twist…no twist. Straight pull….wiggle. Do I just cut them all off?? Some come out so beautifully…..I’m talking about the little bit that sticks up over top of tube. Help!!! And thank you for exactly what I needed today.
These trays are the best! I had to make a few batches to make the right amount of lip balm without having too little or too much for the trays, but once I got it right it has been a true time saver! I used to fill tubes with a plastic dropper which is great for smaller batches, but it takes a lot of time not only to fill, but it can get messy. I also hated cleaning up the outsides of tubes when they overfilled or dripped over – which does not happen with the trays. Now I use two trays and while one is setting up, I’m mixing and pouring the other batch. My customers like it because they get a little more lip balm than they used to because the trays have some head space. I highly recommend these trays if you are making larger amounts of lip balm!!!
