I’ve been playing with Wheat Germ Oil in different formulations. I’ve made a salve for rough hands and some soap featuring Wheat Germ Oil.
Have you read about wheat germ? With the content of beta carotene and Vitamin E, this oil is great for soaps, lotions, and other skincare products. We can even improve on this whole scenario since our wheat germ oil is expeller pressed without the use of solvents! Isn’t that great?
And you know MMS likes to improve upon greatness, so we only carry ultra-refined wheat germ oil. Ultra refining improves the odor! If you have used wheat germ oil before and eliminated it from your line of oils due to odor, try again! This oil will truly impress you. Our wheat germ has a slightly nutty scent but is practically odorless.
To the Wheat Germ Oil, I’ll add Castor Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Cocoa Butter, Lanolin, Aloe Butter, and Shea Butter. Joining me in making this lip balm?

Weigh all ingredients but the flavor oil into a microwave-safe container. Heat using short time bursts and stirring after each heating until ingredients are melted. You could also do this step in a double boiler.
Add the flavor oil to the mixture, and stir well.
Pour into tins and allow the lip balm to harden completely before adding the lids.
Notes
I’m loving the Caramel Toffee Flavor in this lip balm. The Wheat Germ Oil does not impact the lip balm at all in terms of scent. The lip balm is smooth and feels fantastic on my chapped lips!
