Super Simple Spring Gardener Salve 2

It’s spring, and though there may still be snow on the ground where you live, it’s time to get some seeds started and gardening tasks begun.

When you start gardening, though, your hands will take a beating. Today we’ll make a super simple salve that will have your hands looking and feeling fantastic.

The base for this salve may have you going “Huh?” because it’s our Soy Lip Solutions! This blend of Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Castor Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter, and Cocoa Butter makes a perfect base to pamper your hands and cuticles.

We could leave it at that, but we won’t, because there are so many wonderful things we can add to boost the efficacy. This time around, our focus will be on extracts: Matcha Green Tea, Dandelion Flower, Calendula, and Marshmallow Root. We’ll also add some Helichrysum Essential Oil for its skin loving properties.

Because we’re using the Soy Lip Solutions base, this will go really fast. Let’s get busy!

What You’ll Need

Formula

97.5% Soy Lip Solutions
0.5% Matcha Green Tea Extract
0.5% Dandelion Flower Extract
0.5% Calendula Oil Extract
0.5% Marshmallow Root Extract
0.5% Helichrysum Essential Oil

Instructions

Weigh Soy Lip Solutions into a microwave-safe container and heat in the microwave using shorts time bursts, stirring after every heating, until fully liquid.

Weigh extracts and essential oil and stir into Lip Solutions.

Pour into tins and allow to cool before adding the lids.

Label and enjoy.

Notes

When I work in the dirt, my cuticles take such a beating. This salve promises to help alleviate the painful dry and cracked cuticles on my fingers. The Helichrysum Essential Oil and Calendula Oil Extract really shine in helping with the inevitable tiny scrapes on the hands when gardening.
