It’s getting to be the time of year that baked goods are on my mind. I love vanilla scents, and Vanilla Hazelnut Fragrance Oil has to be one of my favorites.
“A wondrous vanilla indulgence. This one will definitely heat up your holidays and your senses with its luxurious sweet vanilla notes accompanied by a sprinkle of spice and last but not least perfectly accented with a touch of freshly roasted hazelnuts.“
Today I’m going to add this delectable fragrance to some hand cream so I can really enjoy the smell. I’ll use a bit of Cocoa Butter in the cream to play off the vanilla notes. I think it will be decadent!

Vanilla Hazelnut Hand Cream
100-gram Test Batch
70 grams Water
8.4 ounces Water
Add all but the Liquid Germall Plus and fragrance to a microwave-safe container. Heat in 30-second bursts until ingredients are melted. Make sure your formulation reaches at least 165ºF (74ºC) to ensure the Stearic Acid melts completely.
When the mixture has cooled below 120ºF (49ºC), add the preservative and fragrance. Mix well and quickly pour into jars. If you’re making a small test batch, you may want to scrape the lotion into a baggie and pipe it into the jars. It will set up pretty fast.
Allow the lotion to cool completely before adding lids.
I’m smitten! The combination of the Vanilla Hazelnut and the hint of chocolate from the Cocoa Butter make this lotion smell divine. The consistency is thick without being stiff. When rubbing into my hands, it penetrated fairly quickly, leaving a powdery, oily residue that takes some time to fully work in. This is the kind of cream you’ll want to use when you have a few minutes’ break from working with your hands. It took about 5 minutes before I felt my hands were ready to return to doing things.
We’ve had our first snow, and now that I’m wearing gloves all the time, my hands and cuticles are so dry! I’m looking for this cream to make a big difference and smell great doing it!
