Are you a person who practically dances when the first crop of cherries arrives each spring? Get ready to dance some more – Black Cherry Flavor is here!
Imagine biting into the most perfectly ripe cherry. The sweet flavor floods your mouth as you close your eyes in bliss. Now imagine that flavor in a lip balm or lip scrub. Marvelous!
I’m going to allow some excerpts from the product description to tell you about Black Cherry Flavor, then I’ll share an idea to get this onto your lips ASAP, and we even have samples to send with orders. You’ll be delighted, I promise!
“If you avoid cherry flavors because they remind you more of almond than cherry (what’s up with that anyway?!), then you will LOVE our Black Cherry!
“Don’t forget to order a jar of your favorite Lip Solutions and Cool Red Lip Balm Color to make the best ever Black Cherry lip balms. Your friends just might offer to do your laundry in exchange for your lip concoctions. Yes, it really is that good.”
I think I need to keep some of this on hand for bribery!
Now for that quick recipe I promised earlier, which features the new Black Cherry flavor along with Vanilla Banilla flavor in Mango Butter Lip Solutions.

RECIPE
1 jar Mango Butter Lip Solutions
0.2 ounce Black Cherry Flavor
0.2 ounce Vanilla Banilla Flavor
INSTRUCTIONS
Prepare Lip Balm Filling Tray by placing open lip balm tubes in the holes. Do this just before getting started.
- Tip: If you are not going to make enough to fill all the holes in the tray, you can still use it. Just put tubes in all 4 corners of the tray for stability, then cluster the tubes you plan to fill at one end. Use a transfer pipette to fill each tube, being careful to avoid flooding the tray. This method removes the concern about knocking over freshly filled lip balm tubes. (I’m pretty clumsy, so I’ve learned to take precautions to avoid messes.)
Heat the Lip Solutions until thoroughly melted, stirring well. You can do this in the microwave (melting for a short time, then stirring) or on the stovetop. Check out this detailed blog that tells all about how to melt Lip Solutions without a microwave.
Once the jar of Lip Solutions is completely melted, add both flavor oils and stir well to combine. Then use a transfer pipette to fill whatever container you will use.
- Tip: When filling lip balm tubes, fill to the top of inside screw. Allow to cool for a few minutes, then finish filling. Try to create a dome of Lip Solutions on top of the tube. As the mixture cools, the Lip Solutions will shrink and leave a beautiful smooth top with a slight indentation. When a tube is filled completely with the first filling, the shrinkage can cause a deep crack in the mixture down the center of the tube near the screw.
