Get the software. I love Quicken for tracking small accounts like personal or small business expenses. I have a love/hate relationship with QuickBooks, which suffers from “feature-itis.” Talk to your accountant to get input from a professional and use the finance software to get things reconciled! Did you know that most folks under 40 were never taught HOW to reconcile a checking account? True. Ask your friends.
Your accountant will love you for putting your data on computer instead of using a box for all your receipts. Plus, putting your data on computer means your accountant is faster at processing your returns so you will PAY LESS for the help!
