Today I wanted to start off with a super sweet lip balm. And I am not just talking about the taste! 😉 I’m super excited to make a honey flavored lip balm.
Finished tubes of lip balm ready for labels!I really wanted to play with as our Rice Bran Wax and our Oat Oil since they are both relatively new additions to the catalog! I wanted this lip balm to be creamy, and firm, so I chose to rework the Vanilla Latte Lip Balm. I have loved the emollient feeling this recipe had, so I adjusted the ingredients to feature the Rice Bran Wax and Oat Oil.
To celebrate the corny jokes and puns surrounding love, I thought that using Honey Flavor Oil would be a great use not only for the sweet and tasty flavor. Laugh with me as we talk about sweet nothin’s, love, and the honey-do-list! Talk about a win-win!

Weigh everything into a microwave safe container except the Honey Flavor Oil and the Oat Oil. Heat gently until everything is liquid. If you have a few stubborn pieces of wax, remove the container from the microwave and stir until melted. Add the Honey Flavor Oil and Oat Oil and stir well. Pour the lip balm into your containers. If you are using tubes, you can either pipette the lip balm into the tubes, or you can use one of our fabulous filling trays! Allow the lip balm to cool. Cap and enjoy!

Lip Balm Notes: While I didn’t get the creaminess that I had been hoping for, I think I found a great pocket safe recipe that gives the lips an excellent protective barrier without a heavy glossy feel or appearance. This lip balm will definitely be loved in warmer climates for the higher melt point. When I first tested the lip balm, I liked the slight drag it had. The next time I tried it, I had dry and chapped lips, which meant the application felt a little too draggy. However, 5 minutes after applying to my chapped lips, I was pleased with how protected my lips felt! Would I make this recipe again? Oh yeah!
