Good Night Sleep Tight Pillow Spray – 4 Essential Oils 1 Brilliant Recipe 2

Finished Good Night Sleep Tight Pillow Spray

Today I have been busy in the blog kitchen working on a special blend of essential oils. I have been doing some research into what oils are said to help you relax and fall asleep at night. For my essential oil blend I used Lavender 40/42 Extra Essential Oil, Bourbon Geranium Essential Oil, Ylang Ylang Essential Oil, and Wild Spanish Marjoram Essential Oil. These essential oils have all been said to relax the mind and induce peaceful sleep. Before I dive any deeper into this recipe I wanted to discuss when cosmetics become “drugs”. If you have a product that you are claiming makes someone fall asleep it is then considered a drug rather than a cosmetic. There are also some products that can be considered a cosmetic and a drug, so just be sure to do your research before adding a new product to your line. I found some great information off of this FDA website, check it out here!

I was so excited to make this recipe, I went to the blog kitchen and started grabbing the essential oils I wanted to use without even thinking about the availability of these products. Dang global shortages! Global shortages do happen, and it strongly affects our industry. We currently do not have Ylang Ylang Essential Oil or Bourbon Geranium Essential Oil in the catalog. We are currently working on bringing these oils back into stock. If you are interested in making this recipe, hopefully, you have some Ylang Ylang and Bourbon Geranium on hand. If not, no worries! This recipe can be made using any blend of essential oils or fragrance oils.

I am the kind of person that as soon as my head hits the pillow I fall asleep so I can’t really tell you that this spray helped me fall asleep. It sure did make my pillow smell amazing! I have never wanted to sniff my pillow so much in my entire life. I even sprayed a little bit on my husband’s pillow while he wasn’t looking and it helped mask the stinky head smell.

Weighing out the Ingredients

Mixing the ingredients.

Room sprays are a great, cost-effective product to add to your line because this recipe is 97% water! Plus it is so easy to make. All I did to make this recipe was weigh everything into a beaker than I used an immersion blender to blend together the oils and water. As you can see in the pictures when this recipe is first mixed up the mixture appears a cloudy, white color. After allowing them to sit for a few hours you can start to see the mixture become clear. If you test out this recipe please let me know what you think! I would love to know if you felt that these essential oils really helped you fall asleep at night. Enjoy!

I am sorry! The geranium is coming back soon. Ylang Ylang will be a while longer. Both have had MAJOR price increases! OY!!!
