Finished Milky Vanilla Tub Tea

Mother’s day is coming up. In case you have forgotten it is this weekend on May 8th. I don’t know about you but I have yet to get my mother anything. (Mom, stop reading here!) I know my mom loves baths just as much as I do, so I thought I would make her a bath inspired gift. While working here at The Sage I have been able to experience a lot of new things including blooming bath oils and now tub tea. This was something I had not heard of before and being someone who loves both tea and tubs I thought I must try it. I loved this recipe, the combination of the lavender, chamomile and vanilla oil smelled absolutely amazing! It was very relieving and made my skin feel much better. This Milky Vanilla Tub Tea is so easy to make, try it out with me.

Ingredients
Epsom Salt
Milk Powder
Natrasorb
Chamomile Buds
Lavender Buds, USA
Natural Vanilla Oil
Equipment
Scale
Large mixing container (I used a 1 gallon bucket with lid)
Large Heat and Seal Tea Bags
Household Clothes Iron
Spoons
Pipettes

Recipe:

Recipe in Grams
90 grams Epsom Salt
90 grams Milk Powder
10 grams Natrasorb
4 grams Chamomile Buds
4 grams Lavender Buds, USA
2 grams Natural Vanilla Oil
Recipe in Ounces
3.17 ounces Epsom Salt
3.17 ounces Milk Powder
0.35 ounces Natrasorb
0.14 ounces Chamomile Buds
0.14 ounces Lavender Buds, USA
0.07 ounces Natural Vanilla Oil
Recipe in Percentages
45% Epsom Salt
45% Milk Powder
5% Natrasorb
2% Chamomile Buds
2% Lavender Buds, USA
1% Natural Vanilla Oil

To make this tub tea I simply weighed all of my ingredients into my bucket. Then put the lid on and shook it until every thing was mixed together. After the ingredients have been mixed together, fill the heat and seal bags to your desired level and seal with an iron.

Also if you don’t have all the ingredients listed here, there are so many different things that you could put in a tub tea. Any kind of dried herbs, salts, or dry veggies. You can also use dried fruits but with the sugar in the fruit, this tub tea could easily turn into mold city, and nobody wants that. Make sure to discard the contents of your tub tea immediately after bathing. I think that many people forget about oatmeal! Oatmeal is great in tub teas and it is so good for the skin as well. Oatmeal in baths is used for a variety of skin irritations.

I want to wish an early happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there reading this right now. You are amazing. 🙂
