It is a new year and I am loving it! While I didn’t exactly make resolutions, I did make some goals and some plans for the new year. In the spirit of fresh starts, I wanted to make a new room spray for my home. I wanted something fun, fresh, sweet and just a little sassy. Prepare to have your socks knocked off. This room spray is fast and simple. How simple you ask? Just two ingredients simple!
Remember that using this room spray over hard surface floors may make them slippery. When over a hard surface, spray lightly. It is better to spray again in 15 minutes if you want more scent than to create possibly hazardous floors. Just keep that in mind and you shall be fine!
Ingredients Cyclomethicone Punch Party Fragrance Oil |
Equipment Scale Microwave Safe Container Spoons Pipettes |
Recipe:
Recipe in Ounces 1 gallon Cyclomethicone 1 fl oz Punch Party Fragrance Oil |
Recipe in Percentages 99.2% Cyclomethicone 0.7% Punch Party Fragrance Oil |
Open the gallon of Cyclomethicone. Pour 1 fl oz of Punch Party Fragrance Oil into the Cyclomethicone. Cap the gallon and rock it back and forth, mixing the fragrance into the Cyclomethicone. Open the gallon bottle and fill your little 1 oz or 2 oz bottles with spray heads. Cap the bottles and label. How awesome and simple was that?
Have fun!
Psst! Did you know you can make body sprays using this same method. Just make sure you use a fragrance oil that is compatible with the type of Cyclomethicone you are using. It will save you a lot of grief if you make a small test first.
I got the sample in the mail with a recent order, and it is really lovely, however I am trying to create products without chemicals in them. Do you think a room spray would work with just water or another fluid as the carrier, rather than Cyclomethicone? I will give this to a friend who loves room sprays, but I loved the size and the idea of this so much! Thanks
You will need to use an emulsifier. I’m not sure how to advise you. The creation of products without “chemicals” seems impossible to me. I think if you want an all natural product, meaning you can distill or press out the oil from the vegetable material in your own home, then I would suggest adding an essential oil to a fixed oil and using this as a scenting oil. I would not spray this in my room but I would use a cloth, paper or electronic diffuser.
