It is the hardest thing to keep mum about new projects waiting to be released. Well, I can finally tell you about something I have been dying to spill the beans on. We are introducing the Doggy Dozen Program. Before I tell any more, let me give you a little back story.
Every year the MMS staff does fun events to give to the community. We go shopping for a local organization in need. This year we decided to shop for Four Paws Rescue of Utah! Four Paws Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that is dedicated to helping homeless dogs and cats. They rescue stray and abandoned cats, dogs, puppies and kittens from high-kill shelters. Their goal in life is to find a good home for each animal where they can be loved and cared for.
Four Paws Rescue only fosters animals, making sure that each rescue is put into a home where they will receive warm beds, excellent medical care and lots of love. They believe that fostering is a much better option than housing these lovable animals in the cold, bleakness of a shelter. As a result, they are better able to evaluate temperament and the animal’s needs, resulting in a shockingly low return rate. As animal lovers here at MMS, we felt that was a cause worthy of being supported.
Around Thanksgiving, we donated two pallets of quality dog food, cat food, litter, leashes, and treats. We were all so excited and thought that the pile of food would go a great way to helping Four Paws. While it certainly did ease their burden, it broke our hearts to hear that the stacks of food would only last 2 to 3 weeks. We had no idea there were that many fostered animals in need. So we sat down and brainstormed various ways we could continue to offer our support.
For the year 2016 we have come up with a great way to continue donating to Four Paws. Each month there will be twelve spotlight items with a paw print icon on the product. With each product purchased, 20% of the purchase price is donated to Four Paws. So if you buy a $5 item, $1 will go directly to Four Paws. It is that simple. So please help us, help them by purchasing one or more of the items with your order. Watch for the spotlight items each month on the blog and Facebook. Thank you for your support in helping out a great organization.
Tomorrow we will tell you what the spotlight items will be for the month of January. This way we can work together: planning and helping our delightful furry friends.
Great idea!
Thank you! I hope you find the program to be worth it.
Your announcement made me cry like a baby. Thank you for supporting Four Paws. Your *hearts* are the reason MMS is my first stop for supplies.

Please indulge me while I share my Four Paws story:
Four Paws called her Sunny. I called her Maggie The Wonder Dog. In 2008, I adopted the sweetest 5-yr old dog in the world from Four Paws.
On-leash Maggie was so well mannered that my 2-year old grandaughters could walk her at parades or around the block at home. Off-leash, in my front yard while I did yardwork, Maggie would greet the neighbors with a wagging tail and slowly saunter over to say “hi” if invited.
Maggie loved being in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Salt Lake City with the Girl Scouts.
Honorary Girl Scout, defender of little people, my companion. Maggie passed away quietly in May 2015 at 12-yr young. Oh, how I still miss her! My very own super hero.

I am headed over to Four Paws site right now to donate, too. I will wait until tomorrow to place my MMS order so I can choose some Doggie Dozen items.
Blessings to you all!
