I recently took part of one of Amy Warden’s Soap Club Challenges for the Swirl within a Swirl or the Holly Swirl. While my soap didn’t turn out the way I hoped it would, I still love how the soap turned out in the end! I took plenty of pictures, so I will be sharing the tutorial with you in a few days.
This soap may look complicated, but I think it is actually very easy and fun! I can’t wait to share these directions with you! I am planning on making some more of these soaps and when I do, I’ll share those with you. Do you have any recommendations for colors or scents that I should try in my next batches? I would love to hear your suggestions!
To help you prepare for the tutorial, I’m sharing my ingredients and equipment list so you can start planning for any ingredients you might need to order.
Ingredients Coconut Oil Olive Oil Palm Oil Macadamia Butter Sodium Hydroxide Water Cucumbers & Melons Fragrance Oil Moss Green Color Black Onyx Color White Lip Balm Color |
Equipment Scale Soap Buckets Soap Spoon Gloves Mold of your choice (Iām using a silicone log mold.) Immersion Blender |
Note About Colors: You will want to choose three colors that have significant contrast. White is always a wonderful contrast! I personally chose to have a light green, dark green and a white that I hoped would suit my fragrance choice. I think I did a good job!
I see you in a few days with the tutorial!
Special Swirled Soap Teaser Photos!,
I just love how your design turned out! The colors that you picked really look great. =)
I think you did a great job! The green swirl looks like a “Stary Night” tree
Your soap came out gorgeous. My trial for that challenge…well I didnt submit it so that shows how that went for me. I would have been pleased to end up with something half as nice as yours…your color and swirl is just beautiful! I look forward to the tutorial and giving it another go. š
I haven’t seen the tutorial yet on the blog. Did I just miss it?
Oh dear! I forgot to do this one! I’ll dig out my photos and get the tutorial out ASAP! Thanks for reminding me!
