Mayonnaise. When I think of mayonnaise, I think of cold cut sandwiches and my dad joking that condiments are needed to practice safe sandwiches.Yes, my father is a big tease. But mayonnaise is also great for the skin! Who knew?!
Mayonnaise is a emulsified product, being a blend of water, fats and proteins. This is why mayonnaise is great at moisturizing the skin! Mayonnaise is also high in Vitamin E. Mayonnaise is emulsified. Lotion is emulsified. Get the connection? When applied to the skin, mayonnaise has been used as a remedy for removing dead, dry skin leaving dewy, moist and soft skin in its place. You can even use it in areas with tough skin like elbows and feet! Mayonnaise is even reputed to aid in the healing of sunburned skin. Talk about a near miracle in a jar! How might you approach using mayonnaise? I want to know! Even if you tell me about your favorite sandwich! |
Mayo makes a great hair mask/conditioner.
On laundry day, I smear it all over my hair, wrap
a tea towel around, and leave it in for an hour
or so. Then I shampoo bar it out. Towel in washer 🙂
I agree! I love using mayo as a hair mask. I remember when I was a little girl and my mom giving my hair a mayo treatment in the week before school pictures. I always loved how soft my hair felt after!
Mayo is in the so-soft-i’m-not-sure-i-can-still-call-it-a-biscuit recipe I have for tender biscuits…it’s my secret weapon! I like to eat mine, but I wonder if it’d be a good makeup remover..sort of like the oil cleansing method?? My face is currently dry and flaky…I’m tempted to run out and buy a jar so I can try it.
Oh! I’ll bet it would work perfect!
