I adore papaya! I love the taste. Wow! Sweet, exotic and slightly tangy. Somedays I can eat papaya until the cows come home! Well, I am pretty excited because papaya can be used on the skin too!
Papaya is much like kiwi. It has a large enzymatic profile meaning that the enzymes act as a chemical peel, removing dead, dry, flaky skin. Papaya is also reputed to stimulate new cell growth resulting in sunburns and minor injuries healing at a accelerated rate! Now I will admit, when it come to skin care and papaya, I am at a bit of loss as to what other ingredients should be matched with it. Would you help me out? I would really appreciate it! I really want to mash the papaya, spread it on a steak and grill after a few minutes of marinating. The enzymes that make steaks tender also make skin soft. To grill or to spa? What is a girl to do?! |
Wondering if mashing up the papaya and blending it with gelatin powder and some xanthan gum would make an effective facial peel?
I think it would work well but I don’t think the other ingredients are required. Papaya has enzymes that break down gelatin and I’m not sure a mask that could be peeled off is easy to achieve. I think the less time this is on the skin the better. Apply and wash off. Slowly increase the time allowed until results are as desired. Papaya may be irritating to the skin, if this is the case discontinue the practice.
Also, do not use more than once per week.
