It is Father’s Day! I love Father’s Day. I often get to spend time with my Dad and tell him how great he is. Father’s Day reminds me of when I was a little girl. I remember climbing into his lap and once I got settled (and stopped wiggling and wriggling) we would read a book together. I will always remember the feeling of a book propped up in my lap while I leaned against his chest. The rumbling and roaring of villains, dragons and trolls would cause my Dad’s chest to shake while knights defended lands or perhaps a damsel in distress. My Dad would create voices for all of the characters. I love those memories. What special things would you do with your dad when you were little?
This Father’s Day, I am an ocean away but I will be taking some time to chat with him. I am excited to talk with him and do a virtual toast this year. Whether near or far, I hope you get some time with your father. Cheers!
