Green Tea Lip Scrub 8

I wanted to make a lip scrub featuring our green tea butter. I was actually inspired by the Blueberry Lip Scrub Andee made a few weeks ago. I guess you could say that I am extremely adventurous. I especially want to know if there will be any green tea flavor. Come join me for this experiment!

I was really happy with the finished texture of this product. This scrub did have a mild green tea note. I like it but I think I will remake this recipe with some of the green powder for a stronger green tea flavor. I found people who prefer mild oolong or green teas really enjoyed the flavor of the scrub. I really like an intense green tea flavor which is why I consider adding Matcha Green Tea. Maybe we can do this variation tomorrow. How does that sound?

I used two of our newer fixed oils that I find just dreamy. The Peach Kernel Oil and Cherry Seed Oil are light, dewy and pampering. They also make this lip scrub easier to apply to the lips. Personally, I like following this scrub up with Joy’s Buttercream Lip Oil Treatment. The two products together make a killer pair. Try both today!

Ingredients
Green Tea Butter
Cherry Oil
Peach Kernel Oil
Vitamin E Acetate
Sugar
Equipment
Scale
Microwave Safe Container
Spoons
Pipettes

Recipe:

Recipe in Grams
44 grams Green Tea Butter
4 grams Cherry Oil
20 grams Peach Kernel Oil
2 grams Vitamin E Acetate
130 grams Sugar
Recipe in Ounces
1.56 ounces Green Tea Butter
0.14 ounces Cherry Oil
0.7 ounces Peach Kernel Oil
0.07 ounces Vitamin E Acetate
4.58 ounces Sugar
Recipe in Percentages
22% Green Tea Butter
2% Cherry Oil
10% Peach Kernel Oil
1% Vitamin E Acetate
65% Sugar

Weigh all of the ingredients into the food processor bowl. Gently pulse the ingredients together until thoroughly mixed. Once the scrub is mixed together, fill the jars and cap.

Yield: This recipe will fill 15 of the 10mL Lip Balm Jars.

Notes: If you want to make a small batch, you can easily use a small personal blender like I did for these photos. I used a Cusinart Attachment.

This sounds great! Will the oils seperate from the sugar? Or does the butter help keep it emulsified?

The oils shouldn’t separate from each other as long as the scrub isn’t exposed to high temperatures. Due to the mixing this scrub stays paste like, just like mixing butter and sugar when baking treats.

This looks so good! The cherry oil, especially, would be great in a lip scrub. thanks for sharing!

This looks like an amazing scrub Taylor. I still have green tea butter so this is on my ‘to do’ list. I even have some green tea flavor for lip balms so might add a bit even. Love that you used the new Cherry Oil. I don’t have any on hand so will have to substitute, but on my next order I may order some.
