Creamy Coconut Lip Balm 10

Have you tried our virgin coconut? I am in love with it. It is a sweet soft coconut flavor and scent that is absolutely dreamy. I love what it contributes to massage oils, serums and particularly… lip balm! Come join me as we make lip balm using this exquisite oil!

Besides using the Virgin Coconut Oil in this recipe, I also used our Cherry Oil. Cherry Oil is very light in feel and I have found I rather enjoy the tactile properties it lends to the skin. If you are looking for an oil light in color and texture, this is it!

I also used Palm Kernel Oil in this recipe. I needed a hard and brittle oil and Palm Kernel fit the bill. Palm Kernel is an excellent oil for a lip balm to insure that you keep the cost down. Especially when working with more expensive oils such as Virgin Coconut Oil.

Note: If you are not a fan of coconut flavor, I still recommend you try this recipe. The texture is smooth, creamy and perfect for summer lips. Substitute the Virgin Coconut Oil for regular Coconut Oil. From there, you can add any flavor of choice.

Ingredients
Beeswax
Virgin Coconut Oil
Palm Kernel Oil
Castor Oil
Cherry Oil
Equipment
Scale
Microwave Safe Container
Spoons
Pipettes

Recipe:

Recipe in Grams
100 grams Beeswax
125 grams Virgin Coconut Oil
75 grams Palm Kernel Oil
100 grams Castor Oil
100 grams Cherry Seed Oil
Recipe in Ounces
3.52 oz Beeswax
4.40 oz Virgin Coconut Oil
2.64 oz Palm Kernel Oil
3.52 oz Castor Oil
3.52 oz Cherry Seed Oil
Recipe in Percentages
20% Beeswax
25% Virgin Coconut Oil
15% Palm Kernel Oil
20% Castor Oil
20% Cherry Seed Oil

Weigh all ingredients into your microwave safe container. Microwave in short bursts until all ingredients are melted. The beeswax will take the most time to melt, but if you stir the lip balm after the other oils have been heated, it will melt quickly. Once the mixture is melted, fill tubes or jars. Cool. Label.

Yummm…I love coconut. This is the best lip balm recipe so far! I can’t wait to try it. I have been thinking about how to get a coconut flavor in a lip balm, and here you go. Thanks!

Please let us know how much recipes make. I don’t have many tubes left and I have no idea whether this makes 50 tubes or 200 or 10. But maybe that’s what jelly jars are for. Then I’ll have pre-made lip balm and I can just heat it up and flavor it and pour some more. Looking forward to some yummy coconut goodness.

I have all the oils except for Cherry Oil. What other oils can be used in place of it? I would like to try this recipe, but I don’t plan to place an order anytime soon, as I have too many raw ingredients to use up — I know you all can relate to that !!

Lol! I can relate. What are some of the lighter weight oils that you have available? Sesame? Macadamia? Almond? Peach Kernel? Squalane? These are just some suggestions, but you can now make the final choice based on the ingredients in your cupboard.

For your blog fixing challenge–you forgot to list beeswax in the first ingredients list. 🙂
