All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson ~
I’m so excited to release another challenge. Recently I have been asked several questions about formulating or changing recipes to suit the oils people have on hand. Since there have been lots of these questions, I thought I would make a challenge. Here are all the details!
Using either the comments or the Contact Us form, send me a list of the ingredients you have on hand. Tell me what you want to make. (ex: a facial lotion, foot cream, cuticle cream, soap) Once I have received your request, I will start formulating a recipe and then I’ll share it on the blog!
The blog world will appreciate you dusting off your camera and taking photos of you making your recipe. While taking photos isn’t required to participate in this challenge, it is like the frosting on the cake.
Send in your lists! I look forward to hearing from you!
What is in your cupboard? Challenge,
Hi Andee,
What a fantastic idea. I am sure I am not the only one who bought an ingredient for a particular recipe, but would love to hear what else I could use it for. In my case it is not an oil, but polysorbate 80. I had bought it originally for a face cleanser recipe someone had given me. It worked very well, but I would love to know what else I can use this product for and what role it plays in a product. I did notice that polysorbate 20 was used in some of the blog scrub recipes. Could the 20 be replace by the 80?
Thanks,
Julie ^_^
Hello Andee,
I have the following ingredients I would like to use in making a body butter. Shea butter, Cocoa Butter, Soybean Oil, Jojoba Oil, Water, Emulsifying Wax, Beeswax, Aloe Vera Juice, Germall Plus. I am a newbie and trying to figure out percentages for ingredients in different products. Any advice you may have would be wonderful.

I would love to make a facial moisturizer. I have: sweet almond oil, lanolin, cocoa butter, beeswax, Avocado oil and some preservative of germaban II so far. I noticed a few other key things that I needed so i have these ordered: steric acid, citric acid, emulsifying wax and some glycerin. Will these ingredients make a nice facial lotion? Is there anything i need to omit?
Thank you
Amanda
