Fragrance Friday: Ancient Oudwood

What a wonderfully rich, deep, and captivating fragrance!

Ancient Oudwood is our interpretation of the highly sought (and very expensive) oud resin that won’t break your pocketbook or hurt conservation efforts of this threatened wood.

The oud resin comes from the Agarwood tree after the heartwood has been infected by mold. Its influence on the perfumery world has been momentous! We wanted to share the warm, oriental-woody scent with you without adding to the global demand.

Ancient Oudwood blends rare Oudh wood with sensual amber, musk, and rosewood, while hints of cardamom, Sichuan pepper, coconut, and dewy violet provide fleeting top notes.

I think Ancient Oudwood would be a great holiday scent to bring the feel of the gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh that the wise men brought to the Christ child. That was the first thing I thought of when I smelled it.

Wherever you use this fragrance, I know people will come back for another sniff, and then another. It’s that good!
