At the beginning of January, I asked you to guess how many eggs my family chickens laid last year. We got many guesses, and they ranged all over the board from 8,000 all the way to 18,500! You may be asking, how many eggs did those chickens lay? They laid a total of 11,758 eggs in 2017. Whew! That’s a lot of eggs. As my great-grandmother would say, “Egads!” 😉
Time for a drum roll! Our closest guesses belong to Vicki B., Joanne F., and LuAnn R.! Congratulations ladies! I have some goodie boxes that are heading your way.
What did we do with all those eggs?
We sold and gave some away. We made strata, quiche, cookies, cakes, breakfast burritos, french toast, pasta, and lots more!
What will you record this year in your copy of the Adventurers Weekly Calendar to see what you have accomplished or finished?
P.S. I feel like an ninny for forgetting about this contest!
Yay!! Although I grew up feeding our chickens and gathering eggs and hating it, I wish we now lived where I could have them!! I miss the yummy taste and wondering how many double yolks we would have, that part was always fun! Thanks for the contest!
Congrats ladies! What were their guesses?
I missed the original post. I’m amazed your chickens laid so many eggs! Way go, fluffy, feathered ladies!
weird, I left a comment the other day, but it’s not here! But yay, I’m excited to win something fun!!
Do you need any info from me?
Thanks!
