Tahitian Flowers Melt & Pour Soap

Have you ever heard of the Tahitian Gardenia? This simple, pinwheel-shaped, white flower is native to the Polynesian Islands. The name is a bit misleading because this flower is not native or naturalized in Tahiti at all! The Tahitian Gardenia is commonly used to make leis because it is incredibly fragrant. Our Tahitian Flowers fragrance will sweep you away to the many Polynesian islands just by scent alone. Close your eyes and smile, because you’ve just been enveloped in the scent of a fresh lei and kissed by a warm tropical breeze.

A lot of the time on recipes you will see us put Q.S. for the measurement of color. Q.S. stands for quantity sufficient, which means, just use as much as you need to get the color you desire. Sometimes we use such a little amount it is not measurable. For this soap we wanted it to turn out a pink color so we did a couple drops of Purple Raspberry until we achieved the right color.

Making this soap was one of the easiest things that I’ve ever done. I simply weighed the desired amount of Melt and Pour Soap and then heated in the microwave until the soap was fully melted. Next, the fragrance and color were added and completely mixed in. Once everything was mixed, I poured it into the soap mold. I let my soap cool overnight, but you don’t have to wait that long. You can pop your soap out of the mold once it is fully set.

I can’t wait to get together with my sister and show her how easy it is to make soap! We’re going to have to have a girls night!
