Coconut Paradise Massage Bar 6

Finished Coconut Massage Bar

Finished Coconut Massage Bar

On Monday I shared a wonderful massage bar recipe. It is light and leaves the skin dewy and soft. Since then, that recipe has received some rave reviews and also some great feedback. I had a few people ask if I could formulate something similar that doesn’t contain silicone oils. So I went back to the blog kitchen to create another massage bar.

This massage bar features the scrumptious smelling Virgin Coconut Oil. Not only does this massage bar smell like the perfect tropical vacation, but it glides smoothly across the skin, leaving just enough product behind for a deep muscle massage without the oily/greasy sensation. Isn’t that perfect?!

      Veronica,

The emulsifier helps us make sure that the silicone oils and the other oils will mix. Typically they will separate and the emulsifier helps us make sure it stays as one cohesive mixture.

      Cheers!

Hi Taylor! Thanks for this. I’m curious what oil you may recommend in place of coconut oil and what are your thoughts on using a vegetable emulsifier (so that the bar is natural)?

You know, I would choose any oil that melts at skin temperature to use in place of the coconut oil. Some things I might try would be Mango Butter, Babassu, Hemp Butter or even Shea Butter.
Choose something you have on hand regularly.

I think using the vegetable emulsifier would work wonderfully. The finished product will feel different than this formulation but it will still make an exceptional massage bar.

      Cheers!
