I do not think that Andee meant anything ill or wrong in her comments. Each generation has a language all its own in exclaiming excitement. This makes me think of The Gay 1920s (a very different meaning today). It also makes me think of Mary Jane, hooking up and all sorts of slang that is kicked around as common language.
Andee’s intent is to share excitement. I hope you overlook her generational language use and share in what she so happily shared as good news.

Awesome! What is the discount to Alaska?

As you know, shipping to Alaska is expensive. You have a few options that may help. 1) ship to a freight forwarder in WA or OR for transit by barge or ship to your area. Sometimes this is very helpful. 2) allow yourself the time for Standard Post which can take 30 to 40 days to arrive. This is the true explanation of patience in my opinion. 3) allow all the Priority Mail discounts that each product applies to your order. We query USPS.com when your order calculates shipping. We estimate the number of boxes, their weights, their dimensions and give all that data to USPS. We then get back an estimate from them. We allow our system to reduce the shipping by specific amounts on each product in our catalog. If you enter an order you made last year and make it exactly the same now, you will see the difference in the shipping costs. Balancing an order that is sufficiently heavy, sufficiently dense and doesn’t combine light bulbs and bricks in the same box can make for very happy shipping amounts. As you know there are limits to what computers can do. Our shipping staff is very skilled at adjusting boxes and shipping in a safe/sane manner. If ever we have calculated incorrectly you have received a refund of the shipping which was in excess. We are now giving our crew more tools to ship your order in quick fashion with lower costs. And so far, they are doing an amazing job.
