Not that long ago I asked our blog readers to submit photos of something they have made that is inspired by spring. Today, I would like to introduce you to Terry, one of our submitters.
One of my best sellers is my Olive Oil Soap. This is a cold process soap and I make it with about 75% olive oil and 25% coconut oil. Rather than 100% olive oil, this ratio cures and hardens a little faster and still lathers really well. People love the way it feels on their skin, and they almost always comment about the olive oil “stamp” on the soap. Who knew a special mold would make such a big statement. A new customer of mine ordered the soap, loved it and gave some away for Christmas. She asked me if I could make a Mango scented Olive Oil soap, that was her favorite scent. Well, next time a placed an order with The Sage, I included Mango Fragrance Oil. I made my next batch with the Mango scent and it is soooo yummy. It might just be one of my favorites now too, along with Pear. So, Mango is my new Spring fragrance!!! It is great to have customers suggest their favorite scent and they certainly appreciate and feel like it is a custom soap just for them. Don’t forget! We will accept submissions for our challenge until March 20th! Here is a chance to strut your stuff and get a goodie box from the MMS Blog Kitchen. Good luck! |
