We just had a super fun class and made the Bottoms Up Day 5 recipe that Joy showed us on the blog.
This was fun to make and everyone really enjoyed measuring out the ingredients to create a great product. I know that I, and most of the class, don’t have young children to use this as a bottom ointment, but we all agreed we will be using this great stuff on our feet bottoms, nail bottoms, hand tops, and any sides – top or bottom – that need that extra moisturizing.
Here is the recipe we followed.
Bottoms Up
32 grams High Melt-Point Shea Butter
30 grams Aloe Butter
10 grams Soy Wax
8 grams Cherry Oil
5 grams Anhydrous Lanolin
2 grams Black Currant Oil
1 gram Seabuckthorn Fruit Oil
8 grams Calendula Extract
2 grams Orchid Extract
2 grams Chamomile Extract
Recipe: Yields 100 grams or 3.53 ounces.
This recipe came out a beautiful orange color and we filled 1 oz containers and labeled!
Thanks for playing class with me!
Thanks for the recipe! Sounds like a great moisturizing ointment.
Looks great! I love the color. I use a lot of balms this time of year–nothing commercially made even comes close, does it?
Sounds like it would be great stuffs!
Thanks for a fun class, Tonya. I love my “Bottoms Up” and had a really fun time. How lucky some of us are, who are close enough to drive to your events!
