| The story behind this lotion is quite entertaining. I would recommend taking a moment to read the story on the Special Request Lotion recipe page. I think this creamy lotion would be a great bribery for any handyman with its fresh and clean masculine scent.

Weigh all ingredients except Germaben II and fragrance oils into the microwave safe container. Heat in the microwave using short time bursts until everything is melted. Blend the ingredients to a smooth, creamy consistency using the immersion blender. Add Germaben II and fragrance oils once the temperature drops below 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Blend until completely mixed. Pour into bottles and allow to cool completely. Cap the bottles.
Notes: This recipe makes approximately 18 fl oz of cream.

Andee;
I love the step by step pictures showing what things look like at different phases. While these are great for the small sample batches we all make, could you talk about or show us pictures of MMS’s large batch processes for soap and lotions? By large batches I mean 25 pounds of soap or 3 gallons of lotion etc.
Thanks.
Bonnie
Bonnie,
Certainly. I can show you a large batch of lotion and you can see it dispensed into bottles.
Larger batches of mean more molds/bottles and a pail with a spigot.
Can this recipe be changed to have only one butter and 1 oil with the same quantity measurements that is in the recipe? I prefer paraben free preservatives. Can you suggest a good paraben free preservative that would work in this lotion?
What oils do you have? Do you have any preservatives?
Yes I have preservatives. They are paraben free. I have Suttocide A and Liquid Germall Plus. I think that is all I have. I have mango and kokum butter.
Instead of doing the Special Request Lotion, try Granny’s Favorite. You don’t have a wide range of oils to draw from, and the Special Request Lotion has a lot.
I think that is an easier formulation for you. Use the Liquid Germall Plus in the Granny’s Favorite recipe.
