Once we chose the fragrances we wanted, I had the kids line the bottles up for filling. We added 5 grams of Polysorbate and 5 grams of fragrance to each bottle, swirled the bottle to combine the fragrance and Polysorbate and let it sit for a 1-2 minutes. Then we topped off each bottle with warm water (about 11.5 oz). After filling the bottles, we placed the trigger spray heads on the bottles and tightened the closure. We gave our bottles a few shakes to ensure our room sprays were mixed and then put some simple labels on the exterior of the bottles. That was easy!
Remember to spray carpets or fabrics only, as these sprays can make hard floors slippery and we don’t anyone to get hurt. If your house only has hard floors, spritz a paper towel or fabric hand towel and hide under or behind any piece of furniture. Your room will smell just as fabulous!Happy room/body spray making!

Just curious…since your ingredients include water, wouldn’t a preservative be necessary? Or is there something else already included that will inhibit growth of bacteria, mold, and fungus?
Thanks!
You can certainly use a preservative. I don’t generally do so because this is not a product which carries much food.
I think of eating a fragrance oil or essential oil and I don’t believe either can be life sustaining. Some are actually
considered to be anti-bacterial on their own.
So, if you choose to use one then go ahead. We have no concerns about it. If you opt not to add one then I think the
room spray will be just fine.
Hello Andee,
First of all thank you for giving a good advise on how to make room/ body spray, im greatly fan of chemistry (though im not very good at it =()
I have a question if you like to add preservatives what will i use? is polysorbate safe to use or those it have GHS category?.
Thank you very much,
Remmie.
Our recommendation for a preservative would be either Liquid Germall Plus or Optiphen. Polysorbate is safe to use. It is often used in cosmetics, foods and many other products. Good luck!
