What are you making for Thanksgiving? I was thinking about a soap but I will probably make a lip balm instead. I have been using up bars of strange soaps in my shower for a while. Most of them are test samples from the office but a few are from hotels where I have traveled. It is a sad day when you resort to hotel soap while at home!
Speaking of hotel soaps, have any of you noticed how much titanium dioxide is used in these types of soaps? WOW! There must be more titanium in there than soap. I was surprised by the white streaks down my arm. When using colorants it is a good idea to err on the side of too little than too much. Journals and notes will save our butts from silly mistakes and good notes certainly will save us money in the colorant/fragrance/additive departments.
So, on to my focus today. Since Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching I am going to encourage everyone to write a guest blog for MMS. Each week I will announce a new theme and the deadline for entries will be Friday of that week. The following week guest blogs will be posted and readers can vote for the winner. Bonus points will be given for originality, photos and humor. Winners will be given $100 gift certificates to TheSage.com and a winner will be chosen each week until Christmas.
This week’s theme is :Thankful. How can you use this word to describe your soap business, your personal care products that you make, your education this year, etc? You describe, you write 100 words or more, include photos and submit to blog@thesage.com. Friday the 18th is your deadline! Next week the entries will be posted in no particular order. On Friday the 25th we will announce our winner for the week. Winners will be chosen by MMS staff with input strongly based on reader comments. On the 21st I will announce a new theme and the deadline will be November 25. We will continue in this fashion with the last deadline on December 23 and final winner being announced on December 30.
So, what am I “Thankful” for? The staff here at TheSage.com. I have a little video of our apple picking and juicing activity. You will see some peaches that we canned and some sage leaves that we harvested and are drying for Thanksgiving Day. This is our crew. We have a great staff and they worry about your order a lot. It is so nice to see people working together for the same goal.

I also need to thank Tanya for taking pictures and having a great finished video. I couldn’t have dreamed up anything like this.
Blog Challenge for Guest Bloggers: Thankful,
Tina….. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful video! It’s so nice to be able to see the faces of the people that we have gotten to know through calls/internet/ordering. You can most definitely see in the photos that MMS is a family…. that they enjoy working together.
MMS is part of my soaping family… and I, for one, am thankful for all you guys do to encourage and support the creativity of your customers. You make our experience a personal one, and go out of your way to make sure that we have everything we need, and answer any questions we may have. You create bonds with your customers.. and we feel like we have real friends at MMS.
Thank you so much for all you do!
