Raspberry Seed Face Moisturizer

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the skin on my face. Today I’m looking closely at Raspberry Seed Oil. It has loads of natural Vitamin E, which does wonderful things for the skin as well as gives the oil a longer shelf life.

Raspberry Seed Oil is high in natural tocopherols and essential fatty acids, with 30% omega 3, 54% omega 6, and 14% omega 9 profile. It’s fabulous!

To complement the Raspberry Seed Oil, I’m using the following:

Squalane Butter provides natural moisturizing and lubricating effects for happy skin.

Sea Buckthorn Extract is an antioxidant, anti-aging, acne, anti-inflammatory, emollient, cell healing, and regeneration agent.

Ivy Extract has long been known to be an astringent, stimulant, anti-cellulitis, anti-blotchiness, and a wonderful skin healer. It provides marvelous TLC for skin.

Orchid Extract, because orchids have long been used for reparative and protective properties, moisturizing, fighting free radicals, and reducing the appearance of fine lines.

Lavender Essential Oil gives a delightful calming fragrance as well as helping reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles.

Let’s go make up a test batch!

3 grams Emulsifying Wax
4 grams Squalane Butter
2 grams Stearic Acid
1 gram Sea Buckthorn Extract
1 gram Ivy Extract
1 gram Orchid Extract
0.5 gram Liquid Germall Plus
0.5 gram Lavender Essential Oil

Instructions

Weigh all ingredients but the extracts, preservative, and essential oil. Heat in the microwave using short time bursts until all ingredients are melted.

Stick blend to form the emulsion, then check the temperature. Allow the mixture to sit until the temperature falls below 120ºF. At that point, add extracts, preservative, and essential oil. Stick blend or stir well to combine.

The lotion will be getting thick at this point. I went ahead and poured it into jars, but it would have been a lot less messy to use a piping bag. (I do this to myself a lot!)

Allow the lotion to cool completely to room temperature before putting lids on the jars. Then label and enjoy!

Ingredients before melting.

Stirring in extracts, preservative, and essential oil.

Notes

I just love the warm hue of this lotion thanks to the Raspberry Seed Oil! Isn’t it just gorgeous?

The lotion goes on fairly light feeling, though it does have enough body to spread around the face before it soaks into the skin. It has a lovely dewy feel!
