About Andee

Director of Happiness. I'm a thirty-something soap snob. I've grown up with handmade soaps, and I love them! I really like making lotions, soaps, and perfumes. I adore mixing scents to come up with something new. My favorite scent is either Wicked or Cotton Candy. I tend to hoard fragrances, I even have an Earl Grey Tea from the MMS catalog. I won't tell you how old it is, but it sure is good!

I am just learning, but my finished lotion has some grains in it. Does that mean I didn’t melt it enough?

    Thanks,

    Amy

Yes, your finished lotion was not melted completely. I think it is the Stearic Acid that was not melted completely.

Simply fix this by scooping all the lotion into a microwave safe container and re-melt it. When everything is fluid and appears to be melted, take a small spoon and dip it into the lotion. If the spoon doesn’t have any lumps on it, pour the lotion back into the containers.

      Hope this helps!
