It’s Time for a 10-day Soft Skin Challenge! 10

Fall is here and my skin is going to drive me crazy with the dry, rough spots all over! If I’m having a rough time with the season change, I’m probably not the only one. 😉

I've worked hard and forgotten my own skin care!

I’ve worked hard and forgotten my own skin care!

If you are just like me and tired of the rough skin on your hands, feet, elbows or anywhere else then check your cupboard for some ingredients so you can join our challenge! Starting on October 25th, I’m going to make a recipe and then apply it every day. Here’s my list of ingredients!

You may omit the essential oils and use an extract instead. If I were to use a skin friendly extract, I would use Calendula Extract, Orchid Extract or Green Tea Extract. My skin has a preference for those extracts. Any extract that makes your skin feel like royalty should be considered for your skin products.

The last item you will need is a CAMERA of any type! We will be documenting the progress of our skin each day for 10 days straight. Are you ready to see a major transformation? Well, hold on to your socks Nellie because this will be a wild ride!

About Andee

I’m a twenty something soap snob. I’ve grown up with hand made soaps and I love them! I really like making lotions, soaps and perfumes. I adore mixing scents to come up with something new. My favorite scent is either Wicked or Cotton Candy. I tend to hoard fragrances, I even have an Earl Grey Tea from the MMS catalog. I won’t tell you how old it is, but it sure is good!

A little slow reading posts. It never occurred to me to photo document skin progress. Seems like a no brainer, but anyhoo… Will give it a try.

Hmm. Not really for this challenge recipe. Let’s do another with a different recipe on November 6th. What would you like to see in that recipe? Any limitations or ingredient restrictions? Any ingredients that you would love to use?

I would love to participate, but cannot use lanolin…is there another ingredient I can use instead? Or am I not able to participate because of not using the lanolin?
    Thanks!

Hmm. This challenge recipe needs the lanolin. Let’s do another with a different recipe and a similar challenge on November 6th. What would you like to see in that recipe? Any limitations or ingredient restrictions? Any ingredients that you would love to use?

Sounds like a great idea to me!! I would love to still use the high melt point Shea butter, and jojoba oil, maybe some cocoa butter instead of lanolin….just my thoughts! Oh, and maybe allantoin? I have some of that, and I would love a good recipe to use it in!! If I think of anything else, I will comment again. Thanks!!

You don’t specify in here if we are to formulate our own recipe for this or follow what you have (ingredients, but no amounts). I was just curious. I have been using my own skin creations for 18 years, and there is a noticeable difference in what I make vs store bought. Usually, in challenges that I have been involved in, there are specific instructions. This one is pretty vague. I don’t know if others feel the same way. Just thought I would ask. 🙂
