|Here I am changing my recipe, yet again, to get the product that I want. Remember that you should never have to settle for anything! If you try a recipe and you like the basic ingredients but the viscosity, color, or texture isn’t quite what you wanted, change it! Today I am going to increase Lanolin up to 7% instead of 5%. This will make a more viscous mixture but how viscous I am not sure. I also want to lighten the color by reducing the Seabuckthorn Fruit Oil to 1%. Let’s see how this formula turns out!
Recipe: Yields 100 grams or 3.53 ounces.
Day 4 turned out well. I am getting closer to my goal with the product. I liked the result of the lighter orange color. It is perfect! I don’t need to mess with that anymore. The Lanolin did end up making a thicker, more viscous ointment and I am worried that it is more difficult to apply to sensitive baby skin. I think that today’s formula would make a great foot balm though! It has a nice rub in time on the skin and it is extremely moisturizing. This just isn’t what I want in a baby bottom ointment, yet. Tomorrow is Day 5 and the final day so here’s to getting the product I want!
