Mokalata Pictures

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

I was helping a customer today and I was asked what the Mokalata looked like used in a cold process soap. I was baffled how to describe what it looked like on the outside and inside. Then I realized that photos give the description I never could.

Before cutting.

After cutting.

This type of coloration is typical for fragrances with a high vanillin content. If you object to the dark color, then use the scents which won’t discolor. We think this dark color is wonderful for this scent. It would have been a shock to color the soap green and THEN get this dark brown color! WOW!

First Monday of 2009!

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Wow! It was so crazy around here yesterday, we were running around like crazy. The pile of packages was so big when our UPS driver came to pick up we just about filled his truck. We didn’t get as many shipments out as we would have liked but we are catching up with great speed.

Meet Anthony, our UPS driver. He is trying to figure out how to get as much as possible on his truck.

Off he went with tons of boxes with the MMS tape!

Technical Support Rocks!

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

The Technical Support staff here at Majestic Mountain Sage is fantastic. I’m not just making this up either. We have people around the world that call, e-mail or snail mail our office all the time with questions that this great staff answers. If anyone has a question about lotion, soap, perfumes, preservatives, scrubs, or anything else you can think of, our Technical Support helps find the answers. Tina, one of the Technical Support staff, gave me this letter to share with you!

A couple of months ago, right in the middle of making a soap batch, I ran out of Olive Oil. I was about to measure out some more oil, when I discovered the can I was going to use wasn’t olive oil, but was a blend of canola and olive. Being fairly new to soap making, I had no idea how to calculate the lye for an oil blend. I called MMS in a soaping frenzy. Since MMS in the pioneer in lye calculators, I figured if anyone would know what to do, it would be the good folks at MMS. Tina, you quickly put my mind to rest with your expertise and good humor.

I promised that when the soap cured, I would send you a couple of bars. Please enjoy the enclosed soap as a small token of my gratitude and appreciation.

It was reassuring to know that when a soaping problem arises, MMS is not only a supplier, but is there to help.

Happy Holidays!

Sue

Thanks Sue! I’m glad to hear that we were able to help you with your soap making! I was able to take some photos of the soap that Sue made. It looks great, doesn’t it?

If anyone else has comments they would like to share, I’ll post them on our blog.
